Joseph K. Young, O.D.

Dr. Young is Advanced Board Certified in Optometry, and in the treatment and management of Ocular Disease. He is certified in the use of Therapeutic and Diagnostic Medication, and is licensed to prescribe. He is also hospital trained (VA hospital), and trained in both adult and pediatric care. Dr. Young is the recipient of a multitude of awards as well as Academic & Externship Honors which include, among others, the Milroy Optical Scholastic Scholarship, BSK(BETA SIGMA KAPPA)Optometric Honors, Primary Care Externship Honors, Cornea & Contact Lens Externship Honors and winner of the International Opticianry Competition.

Dr. Young is committed to the ocular health of Newtown's children and senior citizens. To that end, he conducts teaching seminars to Newtown's School Nurses as well as Newtown's Senior Citizen groups. Dr. Young is best known for his superb diagnostic skills and quality patient care. Dr. Young is quoted, "Truly listening to what the patient has to say along with in-depth testing is the key to solving the patient's eye care problem". Dr. Young is always on call for emergencies and consultations with other physicians.
